This course is designed to cover ethical, legal & compliance issues regarding referral, billing, and documentation requirements.
Course Objectives
Identify required elements of referral , and certifications for therapy services in a variety of settings.
Be knowledgeable about required elements of documentation per APTA practice guidelines and CMS guidelines including: evaluation, plan of care, daily progress note, progress note, re-evaluation and discharge.
Define and apply medical necessity requirements in the provision and documentation of therapy services.
Understand legal and ethical elements of provision, documentation, billing of therapy services throughout the hospital system.
Understand how to document to support CPT code billing.
