Fourth Annual Bellin Foundation Fund Raising Event
The Bellin Foundation hosted its 4th annual Black Tie & Blue Jean Extravaganza on Saturday, September 12th from 6:30 to 10:30 PM at the Weidner Center, 2470 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay, WI.
The annual fund raiser, now in its fourth year, is a one-of-a-kind event in which participants are invited to mix and match formal and casual dress to create their attire for the evening. Attendees dressed in combinations of tuxedo jackets, blue jeans, bow ties, evening gowns and jean jackets as part of their evening wear – setting the stage for a good time and a memorable experience.
The event has grown in each of its first three years and this year, 304 guests participated in the event. Tickets to this public event were $75 per person.
This year, guests had a chance to have a complimentary photo taken in front of the classic car, taste delectable gourmet cheeses, sample delicious beers and wines, enjoy live jazz music, taste Hinterland’s spectacular gourmet cuisine and desserts, buy a chance to win the raffles and of course bid on the many wonderful silent and oral auction items. The night was definitely action packed!
The success of the event was attributed to the attendance of 304 guests, the sale of 37 silent auction items and 8 oral auction items, the raffle of a beautiful Pandora bracelet filled with charms plus the raffle of a beer and soda pyramid! The event had the generous support of many silent and oral auction donors, 7 generous major sponsors as well as 20 corporate table sponsors. The event also benefitted from generous discounts and outright donations by very supportive vendors.
The event raised close to $70,000 for KidCare, children and adolescent emergency medicine services at Bellin’s new Emergency Pavilion. This service is one of a kind in the greater Green Bay area and offers patients under 18 the ability to be seen by a Pediatric Hospitalist around the clock at Bellin’s Emergency Pavilion. The new KidCare space in the new Emergency Pavilion will be expanded and improved to allow Bellin to provide quality pediatric emergency medical care in state of the art facilities.
The Emergency Services Pavilion project, slated for completion in Spring 2010, is a remodel and expansion of Bellin’s current Emergency Department. Bellin needs more space to provide emergency care as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible. The department exceeds 30,000 emergency room visits per year.
