Philosophy of care: Dr. Castillo strongly believes that attending to children's emotional needs early in life leads to a more stable and successful life as adults. He specializes in child and adolescent psychiatric conditions. He also has special interest related to traumatic head injury in children and the psychiatric conditions that develop thereafter.

Received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Cd. Juarez, Institute of Biological Science, School of Medicine in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico
Completed his residency in adult psychiatry and a residency in child psychiatry, both at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa
Completed research fellowship in Neuropsychiatry (Affective and Anxiety Disorders Following Stroke) from University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa
