Philosophy of care: I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.
I have been in practice since 1991, having initially spent two years in combination family practice and emergency medicine, and the past seven years in emergency medicine and acute care. I am happy to be back in family practice, where I can establish long-term relationships with my patients and assist them in their health care. While I enjoy all aspects of family care, I am particularily interested in pediatrics and adolescent health care, acute orthopedic injury management, diabetes management, OB/Gyn prenatal visits and occupational medicine.
I believe that teaching is the most important part of what we do in the practice of medicine. The patient-practitioner partnership involves teaching and learning from both parties to have the patient receive the most appropriate and effective care.
I am a Fellow Member in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and in the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants.
I am Past President of the Wisconsin Academy and continue to serve on it's Board of Directors as a committee chairman and Parliamentarian.
I am a Founding member of the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants and a member of the Society of Army Physician Assistants.
Locally, I am proud to be a member of the Lions Club and serve as my club's secretary.
I am also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
