Athlete of the Year / Male & Female:
These individuals must define sportsmanship. As leaders in their sport(s) as well as leaders off the playing field, these athletes show commitment, dedication, and achievement in athletics, academics and community. A positive attitude, respect for others, school involvement, and participation in community service/volunteering in addition to athletics makes these individuals great athletes and even better people. Conference/state awards will be considered but are not a requirement.

Breakthrough Athlete of the Year / Male & Female:
This athlete is someone who may not have participated or contributed to the team in the previous year, but suddenly stands out amongst his/her teammates. This athlete could also be a freshman who starts and contributes on a varsity team. He/she should also be involved in community activities, display academic achievement, and have a good relationship with coaches and administrators.

Comeback Athlete of the Year / Male & Female:
This award is for the athlete that suffered a season ending injury or illness, and then returned to athletics in some capacity. These individuals must show a never give up attitude, dedication to their sport and teammates, and commitment to hard work to return to the playing field. These individuals must also show a commitment to community and academic achievement and have a good relationship with coaches and teammates.

Team of the Year:
The Team of the Year must show sportsmanship, chemistry, and dedication to their sport and school. The team also displays respect for coaches, parents, and administration. This team should display a high level of achievement, such as a state or conference championship, a significant improvement from the previous year, a team that has defied odds and achieved success, or a team that has overcome great obstacles.

Coach of the Year:
This individual must have an excellent rapport and a good standing relationship with their fellow coaches, colleagues, athletes and parents. The Coach of the Year is dedicated and committed to his/her program, and strives to make athletes great people on and off the playing surface. This person should be an excellent role model for his/her athletes.

Athletic Director of the Year:
He or she must show consistency amongst all their school’s programs, and have a good working relationship with all coaches and colleagues. This individual should be active in his/her school’s booster club or other fund raising events, as well as have a solid commitment to their school’s athletic program. The Athletic Director of the Year is someone who goes above and beyond his or her expected duties.

Sue Primeau Sports Enthusiast Award:
This person/persons must show great devotion, care, and support of their high school athletic programs. This individual is truly dedicated to their high school and has incredible enthusiasm and love for sports and his/her team(s). This person/persons goes above and beyond to benefit their school’s program. This may include booster clubs, individuals, families, local businesses, teachers and other support staff, athletes, coaches, or students. This award is named in honor of Bellin Health Sports Medicine teammate Sue “Mrs. Lope” Primeau who showed tremendous commitment and enthusiasm for her teams.

Bellin Health Commitment to Excellence Award:
This person must show complete dedication to his or her program and have an unselfish attitude. This individual should be an enthusiastic and hard working individual that always strives to achieve excellence, has a strong community involvement, and an excellent reputation. This is a devoted individual that does what needs to be done, and goes above and beyond what is expected. This individual can be an athlete, coach, parent, support staff, teacher, etc...
