PAD Screening

Comprehensive vascular assessments

Peripheral arterial disease, or PAD, affects between 8 to 12 million people in the United States. PAD increasingly affects people as they age. It hinders circulation to the legs and feet and cause leg cramping, fatigue, numbness or pain. It is commonly associated with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, smoking and high cholesterol.

Bellin Health’s free comprehensive vascular screening includes non-invasive examinations of the neck, abdominal, leg and foot arteries. Blood pressure readings are taken and evaluations for leg edema or swelling, varicose veins, hair loss, wounds and signs of decreased circulation are performed. These free assessments are offered daily and can be scheduled by calling 920 445-7363.

Vein Screening

When most of us think of varicose veins, or even spider veins, we tend to think about the way they look. What we don't often think about is what they can tell us about our health. Varicose veins can cause aching pain and discomfort for some people. And sometimes they lead to more serious problems or signal a higher risk ofother circulator problems.

Who is affected by varicose veins?
They affect more than 40 million people in the United States, about 25 percent of women and 15 percent of men.

When painful signs and symptoms occur, they may include:

  • Achy or heavy feelings in the legs
  • Swelling in veins or ankles
  • Recurring legs sores
  • Itching around one or more of your veins
