Mammography

Mammography at Bellin Health is staffed with Registered Mammography Technologists using both Digital and traditional mammography equipment. All mammograms are double read, by both the Radiologist and the R2 Image Checker. Bellin has been using this FDA approved computer aided detection (CAD) system since January of 2000.

Comprehensive - (Screening and Diagnostic):

Results will be given to you before you leave the Hospital Center. The Radiologist reviews your images while you wait. If needed, additional views or Ultrasound are also performed. Exceptions to getting immediate results would be 1) if we are waiting for your comparison films from another facility. 2) if you have a Saturday Express appointment in which case your result will be mailed to you within one week.

Screening Only –at FMC Algoma, FMC Oconto Falls or Saturdays at Bellin Hospital

A quick 20-minute appointment that does NOT include immediate results. The films will be reviewed on the next business day. Should additional views or Ultrasound be needed, a member of the Breast Health Team will contact you to schedule the necessary appointment.

Our Breast Health Team

(920 433-7555 or Toll Free 866 438-4540) At the Bellin Health Hospital Center, a member of our Breast Health team will be available to discuss your results at the time of your mammogram, or you may schedule an appointment for a later time.

As members of the Breast Health Team we recognize and respect women as decision-makers for their health care. Our mission is to protect and promote a woman's right to make her own choices regarding her health within the context of her personal, religious, cultural and family beliefs.

If your results look suspicious, a member of our Breast Health Team can provide you with support and assistance. They will assist in any recommended immediate follow-up appointments and are available as a resource.

Bellin Health Mammography Locations

Bellin Health Hospital Center: Offers screening and diagnostic mammograms. Appointments can be made by calling Bellin Health Central Scheduling at 920 445-7272. An order from your medical provider is required.

Bellin Health Family Medical Center Algoma: Offers screening mammograms Monday thru Friday. Appointments can be made by calling Bellin Health Family Medical Center Algoma 920 487-3575. An order from your medical provider is required. Results will be mailed.

Bellin Health Family Medical Center Oconto Falls: Offers screening mammograms Monday thru Friday. Appointments can be made by calling Bellin Health Family Medical Center Oconto Falls 920 846-3092. An order from your medical provider is required. Results will be mailed.

Stereotactic Breast Biopsy (Mammotome)

A Vacuum assisted Stereotactic Breast Biopsy is an alternative to a surgical excisional biopsy. Steretactic biopsy is a test to help determine benign or malignant tissue. Bellin is the only ACR-accredited unit in Green Bay and has been since 1994. Biopsies are done by a Radiologist, Monday thru Friday in Radiology.
