Registration/Packet Pick-up is located at the Astor Park Registration tent. The official starting area is located in front of Bellin Hospital (744 S. Webster Avenue). Please report to your assigned corral. Participant numbered bibs are color coded to assist you in finding your corral.

Course

The starting line for the 2009 Bellin Run will be on Webster Ave. immediately south of the skywalk. Participants will line up in the area in s corrals, defined by category and pace.

Participants’ ASSOCIATED BANK bibs will be color-coded to assist runners and walkers with finding their assigned corral. The corrals and bibs will ensure the start of the event moves smoothly and efficiently. All participants need to be in their assigned corral or a later numbered corral. (For example, corral 3 runners may enter corrals 3 through 6, but not corrals 1 or 2.) This will provide friends and family of differing skill levels the opportunity to start together.

Stroller Division

The stroller division is a noncompetitive part of the Bellin 10K Run.  Regardless of anticipated pace, runners or walkers pushing strollers or baby joggers must line up in the stroller corral.  This corral will start behind the runners and at the same time as the walkers.  There will be no stroller division results published; stroller participant results will appear with the runner results.

Finish

The start and finish line are one in the same in 2009, following minor course revisions. Finishing on Webster Ave. will give participants increased space and a dramatic setting. The move has also allowed Bellin Run officials to enhance medical areas, spectator seating, the flow of finishers and ease of access to refreshments.

Optional Technical T-Shirt Upgrade

The Bellin Run is offering a shirt upgrade. For just $10, participants can upgrade from a cotton t-shirt to a technical shirt made with a special material designed to wick moisture away from your body. The technical shirts keep runners drier and more comfortable, making them a hit in the running and sports worlds.

Open to experienced wheelchair racers. Push rims and handcranks will be awarded seperately. Athletes in each division will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plaques in male and female categories. All racers are required to wear helmets.

Preferred Starting Positions

This year the Bellin Run will have the multiple starting corrals and wave starts. Please indicate your anticipated finish time on the registration form.

ChampionChip© Timing System

All 10K runners and walkers will be issued a computerized chip to attach to your shoe. These chips enable all participants to receive a more accurate time. The chip records the time when it crosses the start line and when it crosses the finish line. After you cross the finish line you may remove your chip from your shoe and recycle it in a designated receptacle in the finish area.
