GREEN BAY - Andrea Werner has been named the director of the Heart and Vascular Center at Bellin Health.
In her new role she will be responsible for developing a coordinated set of products and services focused on the needs of the customer, coordinating community and regional involvement to optimize availability of local health services, and helping lead the operational and strategic deployment of Bellin's cardiac and vascular services.
Werner has been at Bellin Health for nine years, most recently serving at its Officer of Innovation. She lives in Oconto Falls.
Bellin Health is a national leader in cardiac services, having been named several times as a 100 Top Hospital for cardiac. Bellin's program began in 1971 and has attracted some of the nation's foremost cardiac experts. Many of its programs and services are considered innovative and have been used as benchmarks by other cardiac programs from across the country.
One example of this is Bellin's door-to-balloon time. This is a nationally accepted time measurement for all hospitals, measuring how long it takes for a heart attack patient to have their blocked artery opened in the hospital's cath lab from when they first enter the hospital's emergency room. While the national goal is 90 minutes, Bellin often performs it in 60 minutes.
