GREEN BAY — Bellin Health and Urology Associates of Green Bay are offering a free seminar on robotic-assisted surgical treatments for prostate, renal and bladder cancer.
The free seminar will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Allouez Executive Building, 2020 S. Webster Ave., Allouez.
“We’re strongly encouraging area residents to take advantage of this free information session,” said Cindy Boehm, clinic manager, Urology Associates. “Robotic-assisted options for cancers such as prostate, renal and bladder cancers are safer, less invasive, heal quicker and involve significantly less pain. The event is free and can help potential patients make better-informed health decisions.”
Prostate cancer affects the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system. It occurs when cells of the prostate mutate and multiply. Pain, difficulty in urinating, erectile dysfunction and other symptoms are common with prostate cancer.
Renal cancer affects the kidney, the part of the body responsible for the removal of the body’s metabolic wastes. Each year in the United States, about 20,000 men and 12,000 women are diagnosed with kidney cancer.
This year, 68,810 people will likely be diagnosed with bladder cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute. About 14,100 will die from this disease.
