Bike safety event planned for Saturday
SEYMOUR — Area children and their parents are encouraged to attend a free bike safety event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 30.
The event – scheduled to take place on Depot Street – will offer tips on proper bike helmet use. Children can take a ride through the Bike Rodeo, visit Buckle Bear, the Crash Test Dummies and Click-it the Cricket. They also can study emergency preparedness information, examine Seymour’s emergency vehicles, a Roll-Over Convincer, fatal vision goggles and much more. The rain site for the event is at the Seymour Fire Department.
Two participants will win a new bicycle, compliments of Diedrick’s Hardware, American Family Insurance and Edward Jones Investments. Bike checks will be performed by members of the Bayshore Bicycle Club.
More than 120 children attended the event last year.
