OCONTO — Bellin Health will host its 2nd annual Wellness Workshop, this year titled “Navigation to Health: Who’s driving your bus?”

The free workshop is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 12 at Bellin’s Bond Community Center, 1201 Park Ave., Oconto.

Registrants will be exposed to several techniques for setting health-related personal goals and attaining them. More than 100 people attended last year’s Wellness Workshop. A similar number of participants are expected this year, organizers said.

“The Wellness Workshop is an opportunity for us to reach out to the community and provide residents with credible health information and an avenue for them to learn,” said Connie Parkovich, team leader for the Bond Community Center and executive director of the Oconto Citizens Foundation.

“The key message of the day will focus on health care and what people can do to take care of their health and not incur any major health costs,” added Elaine Kluth, a therapist at Bellin Health and a scheduled presenter at the Wellness Workshop. “We’re going to be encouraging people to take more responsibility for their health. It’s really about self-accountability.”

Scheduled discussion sessions include: The Wheels on the Bus: Self-Accountability to be Successful; Alternative Fuel: Vegetable Container Gardening; Optimize your Mileage: Food as Fuel; and Fit to Drive your Bus: Revving your Engine.

A heart healthy light meal will be served. Childcare will be provided from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
