Cardiology Associates – serving Northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula since 1971 – was the first independent cardiovascular practice in Green Bay. Working collaboratively, Bellin Health and the group of physicians that would go on to form the practice, pioneered cardiovascular care in the region, performing the first cardiac catheterization in 1972.
Located on the 2nd floor of Bellin Hospital, Cardiology Associates, 744 S. Webster Ave., and Bellin Health have enjoyed the mutual benefits of a strong partnership. A recent examination of how to further those benefits within the current health care landscape resulted in this proposal.
“The rapidly evolving health care environment has increased the complexity of managing a practice such as ours,” said Dr. Richard Timmons, a certified interventional cardiologist at Cardiology Associates. “This is an opportunity to focus on patient care, and less on the administration related to practicing medicine.”
Bellin’s newly joined cardiologists are board-certified specialists and offer the most comprehensive adult cardiovascular services with experience in all areas of cardiovascular care including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and endovascular medicine.
“This enhanced relationship with Cardiology Associates allows us to continue, and build upon, the expertise and higher standards of cardiovascular care for which we are known,” said George Kerwin, Bellin Health president and CEO. “In addition, we’ll continue the patient and health care organization relationships that existed individually and mutually between Bellin and Cardiology Associates.”
Cardiology Associates will maintain its current offices and telephone numbers.
