Bellin Health free parenting event set for September 27

OCONTO — Bellin Health will host a BabyU/Kid U event for expecting parents and parents of toddlers on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Bond Community Center, 1201 Park Ave., Oconto.

“This event is specifically designed to help expecting parents get better informed as to what to expect as parents-in-waiting and to give parents of young children the tools to properly address matters of health and safety,” said Amy St. Laurent, vice president, Family Programs & Services at Bellin. “There is definitely going to be something to learn for any parent or parent-to-be.”

The event is scheduled to take place from 5:30-8 p.m. A presentation on car seat safety will be featured along with sessions on healthy nutrition choices for parents and children (with physician assistant Amanda Westmoreland), prenatal and postnatal exercise, preparing for fatherhood, and a parent question and answer session with Dr. Tim Missbach, a Bellin Health Family Medical Center pediatrician.

BabyU/Kid U also will feature a drawing for a designer Chicco car seat and a booster seat, a virtual tour of the Kress Birthing Center, educational displays, baby and toddler product vendors, information on infection prevention, a breastfeeding education team, and door prizes for moms and dads.
