GREEN BAY — In observance of Mental Health Awareness Week, Bellin Health will offer free depression screenings on Thursday, Oct. 6, at three area locations, including Bellin Psychiatric Center.
Mental Illness Awareness Week draws attention to mood and anxiety disorders on a national level. The event helps educate the public about depression symptoms and treatments, offers individuals the opportunity to be screened for depression, and connects those in need of treatment to the mental health care system.
Bellin’s free and confidential 30-minute depression screenings will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. at Bellin Psychiatric Center, 301 E. St. Joseph St., Green Bay.
Participants will meet with a licensed therapist. Other times and locations include:
• Bellin Health Family Medical Center-Manitowoc, 3415 Custer St., 9-noon
• Bellin Health Family Medical Center-Oconto, 203 Smith Ave., 9-noon
Participants will be asked to complete a written screening questionnaire or fill out an online screening form. A therapist will score the completed document, review the screening findings with the participant, and if necessary, direct those in need of treatment to the appropriate services.
