Edwards SAPIEN Transcatheter Heart Valve

Edwards SAPIEN Transcatheter Heart Valve procedure is an FDA-approved breakthrough in the treatment of aortic valve stenosis. Before the development of the Edwards SAPIEN Transcatheter Heart Valve, there was simply no treatment available for any patient whose aortic stenosis was too severe to risk a surgical procedure. In fact, 50 percent of patients with severe aortic stenosis are not expected to survive more than roughly two years without an aortic valve replacement.

Today, a patient’s damaged heart valve can be replaced with the Edwards SAPIEN device without the need for open-heart surgery. This proven method leads to greater long-term survival and improved quality of life. And The Valve Center is the only facility in Northeast Wisconsin to offer this treatment.
