For Parents & Guardians

Your daughter/son has indicated an interest in becoming a Volunteen at Bellin Hospital. This program's purpose is twofold: 1) to provide a satisfying experience for young people in worthwhile community service, and 2) to provide an opportunity for observing careers in the health care field.

The following facts concerning Volunteens will be of interest to you.

  1. Membership is open to high school students who are at least 14 years of age and are willing to commit at least 50 hours volunteering.
  2. Volunteens must meet the health requirements for Volunteers as established.
    • Completed Health Record
    • Proof of rubella vaccination
    • Two TB assessments when entering the Volunteen program
    • Annual influenza immunization per the Influenza Safety Program
  3. Once a Volunteen signs up for a service, he/she is expected to report as scheduled unless prior arrangements have been made with the Volunteer Coordinator.
  4. Our teens purchase a uniform at the cost of $12. If you would like your son or daughter to become a Volunteen, please sign the parental consent form.
