Orientation and Training Program
Our Volunteer Training Program is an ongoing process. Initially, you will attend a 2-hour New Volunteer Orientation. You will receive your own manual which details in writing everything presented at the training. After the orientation, we will provide on-the-job training in your newly assigned department.

Health Requirements
There are two medical requirements:

  1. If you have not had a tuberculosis (TB) skin test within the last year, you will need to have two TB skin tests done; or, if you are TB positive, you will review a sheet annually with the signs and symptoms of TB.
  2. Proof of immunity to rubella. This can be obtained by having your blood drawn at our Lab. (They will only test your blood to see if you are immune or non-immune to rubella.) Or, you can provide proof of having two MMRs.

These two requirements are done here at the hospital at no charge to you. Further details pertaining to this process will be given during orientation.

Along with the requirements outlined above, a background investigation may be performed.

Our volunteers make such a difference in the lives of our patients and visitors. You will certainly be an important addition to our Bellin Family! We look forward to meeting you.

If you have any questions, please call 433-3632 or email volunteerservices@bellin.org. Thank you for your interest in our Volunteer Program.
