The Faculty Member General Education/Student Success Center (SSC) Coordinator teaches English or Communication classes in the General Education program and is responsible for the overall administration of the Student Success Center, which includes working closely with faculty members and tutors to ensure academic support services are appropriately managed. Must hold a Master's degree in the applicable field with specialization appropriate to the area of teaching responsibility. Candidates with a Ph.D are preferred, though All But Dissertation (ABD) candidates will also be considered. Demonstrated competency in applying principles of learning, teaching, and curriculum development in the area of assignment obtained through academic credit, institutes, extension courses, continuing education offerings, and experience is required. The ideal candidate will show a competency in teaching Composition and Professional Writing, as well as a class in Health Communication. Must demonstrate experience in a leadership role in a university setting, as well as an understanding of student success. Must demonstrate expertise and successful instruction in the field; preferably two to three years of experience at the college level. Knowledge and skill in the application of the principles of teaching and learning and curriculum and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation is required. Must possess a willingness to work with students to facilitate their learning.
