Work Conditioning

Bellin offers clinic-based work conditioning which is designed to help employees who are injured return to work at the least restrictive safe functional level.  Employees entering this program will initially receive functional and/or physical testing to identify their current status.  After testing, goals are established and care plans are created to facilitate a successful outcome.

Our certified ergonomic evaluation specialists (CEES) are uniquely qualified in assessing the work environment for risks. They serve as coordinators of a variety of work and industrial rehabilitation services. Our team has an extensive background in the structure and function of the human body and how an illness or injury can affect an individual’s mental status and their ability to work. Job demands are collected and analyzed by our therapists to create a treatment plan tailored for each client.

Bellin Occupational Health 2018 data shows 88% of patients in the program were discharged to full duty without restrictions.

To meet the challenges of industry,  Bellin’s work conditioning program incorporates job specific muscle strengthening, aerobic conditioning, job simulation, job/task specific body mechanic  training, flexibility training, pain management skills, and case management.  The program will also identify psychosocial factors that could be inhibiting the rehabilitation process.  This comprehensive approach is used to safely return injured employees back to their prior level of function, and also educate employees about strategies that can help reduce the potential for the reoccurrence of injury.
