Athletes on Display at Bellin Health’s Football Combine

The 2016 Bellin Elite Football Combine (BEFC), where up-and-coming athletes have an opportunity to showcase their skills, is set for Saturday, March 19. The location of this event is the Don Hutson Center, the indoor training facility of the Green Bay Packers.

The event will showcase approximately 130 high school football players from across the Midwest as they display their talents for collegiate coaches and recruiters.

The BEFC, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is specifically designed for freshman, sophomore and junior football players who have proven athletic ability and the potential to compete at the next level. All attending athletes were selected based on their performance rating this past football season — all-conference or better — or after having received a nomination from their coaching staff.

The athletes invited to the BEFC represent schools from Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Illinois. Students from approximately 130 high schools are expected to attend, including a strong representation of athletes and schools from Green Bay and the Fox Valley.

“This is an excellent opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talents as they strive to continue both their academic and athletic careers at the next level,” said Terry Beeck, Bellin Elite Football Combine Program Director.

Coaches and recruiters from Division II and Division III universities and colleges, including representatives from St. Norbert College and UW Oshkosh, are scheduled to attend. National Collegiate Athletic Association rules prohibit Division I schools from participating. BEFC results will be available at www.BEFCcombine.com.

The schedule of events is as follows:

• 9 a.m.-noon: Athletes perform basic tests including 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, 60 yard shuttle, pro-agility drill, 3-cone drill, triple jump and broad jump
• 1-4 p.m.: Athletes perform position-specific drills

The best time for media to attend the Bellin Elite Football Combine is between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
