Bellin Earns UnitedHealthcare Workplace Wellness Award
‘Well Deserved’ honor recognizes employers for commitment to employee health
Bellin Health is one of 11 organizations nationwide to earn UnitedHealthcare’s “Well Deserved” award, an annual honor given to employers that have implemented innovative, industry-leading worksite wellness programs that help improve their employees’ health and wellbeing.
Bellin Health incorporates a comprehensive wellness program that has incredible reach, 100 percent participation and stellar results. Not only does the company’s wellness program promote a culture of health, but Bellin is able to demonstrate actual dollar savings based on tracking shifts in risk and incurred claims total costs.
Specifically, the program includes:
• Every employee is assigned a primary care physician and has access to an emotional well-being counselor at no cost.
• An initiative called Free 6 Conditions where all office visits and labs are covered at 100 percent for the six specific conditions that were identified as their top cost drivers.
• Unique monthly community health challenges such as “Find your Pot of Gold” (donating your time, talents and treasures) and “To Be A Lifesaver” (scheduling your annual lifesaving physical).
Bellin Health is among six organizations that have won the “Well Deserved” award twice. UnitedHealthcare presented a Golden Apple award to the company to honor its multiyear distinction and ongoing commitment to employee health and well-being.
Other organizations earning a Well Deserved award include:
• American Hotel Register Company, Vernon Hills, Ill.
• City of Dublin, Dublin, Ohio
• Medline, Mundelein, Ill.
• Methodist Health System, Dallas, Texas
• MGIC Investment Corp, Milwaukee, Wis.
• NCH Corporation, Irving, Texas
• Seminole Gaming, Hollywood, Fla.

• The Council on Foreign Relations, New York, N.Y.
• Westfield Insurance, Westfield Center, Ohio
“UnitedHealthcare congratulates these innovative companies for cultivating a healthier workforce to help improve the well-being of their employees and increase employee satisfaction and productivity,” said Carol Ann Rydahl, health strategies consultant for UnitedHealthcare. “June is National Employee Wellbeing Month, so it’s a perfect time for all employers to learn ideas from these wellness champions and consider how to bring a culture of employee health to their own companies.”
According to The National Business Group on Health, “research shows that healthy employees have lower health care costs; are more productive, creative and resilient; and provide greater intellectual capital to the organization.”
This is UnitedHealthcare’s eighth year of recognizing employer customers with “Well Deserved” awards for their outstanding health and wellness programs, working with an external broker review panel to review and judge all applicants.
