Hogan to lead Bellin’s Business Support areas

Rocheleau to retire after 31 years with health system

Denis Hogan has joined Bellin Health as senior vice president of Business Support and Information Technology. He will replace John Rocheleau, who is retiring on March 3, 2017.

Hogan’s responsibilities will include leading the health system’s Patient Financial Services, Information Technology, Human Resources, Talent Management and Environmental Services departments, among others. Rocheleau will assist in his transition.

“We are thrilled to add Denis to our organization. His experience, business knowledge and leadership are all tremendous assets and will have a sustained impact on the areas he oversees – and our organization as a whole,” said George Kerwin, president and chief executive officer. “He is also someone who is highly involved with community initiatives, further aligning him with Bellin’s goals of enacting meaningful and lasting change in this region and beyond.”

Hogan comes to Bellin from Associated Bank, where he served as the Green Bay market president and Commercial and Corporate Banking business segment leader since 2000. Prior to that role, he served for 10 years as vice president of Commercial Banking for U.S. Bank. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.

“While healthcare is obviously different than banking, meeting the needs of the communities you serve is a common prevailing philosophy in both industries,” said Hogan. “I’m excited to join Bellin, an organization that has distinguished itself through its performance, values and commitment to regional development.”

Hogan’s community contributions are many. He is the co-chairman of the Community Partnership for Children initiative; a member of the Brown County United Way Board of Directors and Executive Committee (including serving as chair of the 2013-14 fundraising campaign); a member of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation Board of Directors and Executive Committee and chair of its Audit Committee; a member of the Bellin Health Board of Directors and Finance Committee; chairman of the Bishop’s Charities Green Bay Packers Football Game; and a member of St. Norbert College’s Schneider School of Business and Economics Board of Visitors. He previously served as the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors president and Executive Board member, a YMCA Board of Directors and Executive Committee member, a St. Vincent Hospital Advisory Board member; and a Heritage Hill Foundation Board of Directors member. Hogan is a 2011 recipient of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Daniel Whitney Award and a 2012 recipient of the Brown County United Way W. Heraly MacDonald Award. Hogan is also a finalist for the 2016 American Foundation of Counseling Ethics in Business Award.

Rocheleau leaves an indelible mark on the organization he served for more than 30 years. The former U.S. Army sergeant joined Bellin’s Marketing and Communications Department in 1985 after completing his service, graduating from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and starting his career at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Six years later, he was promoted to lead the department. In 2000, his role expanded to vice president of System Support Services with responsibility for Accounting, Admissions, Business Office, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Marketing Materials Management, Medical Records, Facility Maintenance, Housekeeping, BioMedical Electronics and Telehealth.

During his career, Rocheleau helped lead several milestone projects, including the development of the Telehealth 24/7 community nurse call center, the implementation of the Epic electronic medical record system, the health system’s conversion to the ICD-10 medical coding system, and several major renovation and building projects. He serves on several community organization boards and teams, including Beyond Health, Achieve Brown County and the Volunteer Center of Brown County.
