Do-Good Sturgeon Bay Offers Free Health Coaching

Bellin, Lakeshore CAP Team Up for Wellbeing Program’s Next Phase

A no-cost health and wellbeing program that gives back to the Sturgeon Bay community is launching its next phase with free one-on-one health coaching.

Do-Good Sturgeon Bay started earlier this year as a partnership between Lakeshore Community Action Program (CAP) and Bellin Health Sturgeon Bay. This multifaceted wellbeing program is complimentary to companies and groups when participants make a donation of $5 or healthy food items to the Lakeshore CAP Door County Food Pantry. To date, the Do-Good program has contributed nearly 4,000 pounds of food.

Health coaching offered in this new phase can help participants eat and sleep better, move more, reduce stress, quit tobacco and manage chronic conditions, among other benefits. Like the program itself, one-on-one health coach sessions are free with the suggested donation. Registered nurses Katie Gray and Claudia Elsner are offering the sessions at Bellin Health Sturgeon Bay, 311 N. 3rd Ave.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to take our Do-Good Sturgeon Bay program to the next level,” said Randy Van Straten, Bellin Health vice president of Business and Community Health. “Response thus far has been fantastic, with so many in the Sturgeon Bay community working to take charge of their health while giving back to their community. This partnership is truly a win-win.”

Bellin’s free health coaching is available to all adults living and working in the Door County area, regardless of health system affiliation. In addition to health coaching, Do-Good Sturgeon Bay offers Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) and individual HRA feedback sessions; eight-week wellbeing programs and communication materials.

Interested individuals can schedule their one-on-one health coaching session by calling the Sturgeon Bay Clinic at (920) 743-0255. Questions can be directed to wellbeing consultant Nurse Jesse at (920) 471-8093 or
