Packers and Bellin team up to support Green Bay schools
Baseball hat fundraiser announced for high school athletic programs
Looking for a great way to support your favorite NFL team and your high school at the same time? Bellin Health, the Green Bay Packers and the Green Bay Area Public School District are joining together to make it easier for students, parents, grads and others to do just that. The three partners this morning unveiled new baseball caps that are being sold to raise money for the athletic programs at the four public high schools. The hats will have the Packers “G” in front and the Bellin Health logo on the back. There will also be one of the high school logos (East, Preble, Southwest or West) on the side.
“This is a great way for people to show their team spirit, supporting the Packers and their local high school,” said Chad Watson, Green Bay Packers Director of Sales & Business Development. “All of the proceeds will go directly to the high schools to support their athletic programs and their turf football fields.”
Initially, 500 hats are available for each of the four Green Bay public high schools. “We’re optimistic that the community response will be positive with hopes of making more hats available for these schools, and expanding the program to include other area high schools,” said Mary Hiltunen, Bellin’s VP – Sports Medicine & Orthopedics. “We’re very excited to be part of this team effort and look forward to seeing these hats around town and beyond.”
Tim Flood, Administrator of Co-Curricular Programming for Green Bay Area Public Schools, was among those participating in this morning’s announcement. “This is truly a reflection of the community we live in,” said Flood. “We have three community partners coming together and offering a new way to support their teams and schools while generating additional financial support for the athletic programs at the same time.”
The hats are now available in the school office at each high school – East, Preble, Southwest and West – at a cost of $20 apiece.
