Bellin Orthopedic Surgery Center to Undergo Ownership Change
Bellin Health has sold its full interest in the Bellin Orthopedic Surgery Center (BOSC) to co-owner Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists (OSMS). The change will take effect Dec. 31. The facility at 2223 Lime Kiln Road will be renamed by OSMS as Orthopedic Surgery Center of Green Bay.
Bellin and OSMS are proud of the impact the center has had since their joint venture began in 2009; however, it has become clear that the time is right for a new ownership structure that more closely aligns with each organization’s current focus and plans for the future.
“While we are ending this joint venture, we remain fully committed to providing excellence in orthopedics and sports medicine care for those in our area,” said Chris Woleske, President and CEO of Bellin Health.
Since BOSC’s inception, OSMS and Bellin Health team members have cared for thousands of patients and performed over 25,000 outpatient surgical procedures at the center. Current BOSC employees will retain their jobs and there will be no disruption to the surgery schedule or care for patients due to the ownership change.
“Eleven years ago, we created a new outpatient orthopedic surgical option in the greater Green Bay community,” said Dr. Tom Sullivan, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and physician owner at OSMS. “And while the joint venture is ending, the high quality of care people have come to expect from the surgery center will continue.”
