GREEN BAY — Bellin Health will hold a free balance and dizziness screening from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the physical therapy department of the Green Bay Health & Athletic Performance Center, 1630 Commanche Ave., Green Bay.
Participants will learn about potential causes of dizziness and how to decrease their risk of falling. A cardiovascular nurse, physical therapist and pharmacist will use basic techniques to determine balance and strength, identify other potential causes for dizziness and offer suggestions for treatment.
“Balance and dizziness are issues affecting many people,” said Debbie Leoni, community outreach coordinator for Bellin Health. “This free screening event is one way we can directly and effectively help people in our community who experience challenges with balance or dizziness.”
Symptoms of balance disorder or dizziness include vertigo, disorientation, loss of balance and lightheadedness. Causes include illness, medical conditions and medication, among other things.
Screening participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring their current medications or a listing of them.
