Cardiology Associates of Green Bay, a Bellin Health partner, recently earned accreditation from a national commission dedicated to the provision of quality service in echocardiography.
The group, Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories, identified Cardiology Associates’ echocardiology laboratory as being “committed to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.”
The commission also identified Cardiology Associates’ echocardiology lab as being “one of the first 1,000 echocardiology laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing.” Cardiology Associates is at 744 S. Webster Ave., Green Bay.
“We’re pleased with the recent accreditation from ICAEL,” said Steve Ruedinger, executive director, Cardiology Associates. “It clearly illustrates for our patients and the public in general that we offer high quality service in echocardiology.”
Echocardiographic testing aids the detection and management of several types of heart disease and is one of the standard diagnostic tools in cardiology with an estimated 10 million echocardiograms performed annually in the U.S.
One American dies every 32 seconds from cardiovascular disease and disorders of the heart and blood vessels, making the disease the leading cause of death in the United States.
Cardiology Associates of Green Bay, in partnership with Bellin’s Heart & Vascular Center, has been a leader in cardiac care for Northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for more than 35 years. The organization has clinics in Oconto, Oconto Falls, Marinette, Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay, Lakewood, Mountain, Iron River, Crystal Falls and Iron Mountain.
