DE PERE — Bellin Health will offer a free seminar focusing on “Personalized Treatment for Cancer.”

The Tuesday, July 21 seminar, sponsored by The Cancer Team at Bellin Health, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the SC Grand, 1250 Mid-Valley Drive in De Pere. Hors d’oeuvres, informational displays and screenings will be offered from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Medical oncologist Dr. Kelly Lynch is the event’s featured expert.

“This event will provide an overview of some new techniques we’re using to better serve our patients and their families,” Lynch said. “We’re encouraging anyone who has been touched by cancer – and most of us have in one fashion or the other – to come and get a better understanding of the work we’re doing to fight this deadly and pervasive disease.”

The seminar will offer an explanation of tests that examine a cancer patient’s breast, lung and colon tumor issues at a molecular level and give information about the specific behavior of the patient’s tumor. Such genetic testing can aid an oncologist in determining which treatment plan will most effectively prevent the cancer from returning. It also can aid the oncologist in controlling the disease.

Registration is required. Interested parties may call (920) 445-7373 or (888) 758-7373.
