Dr. Paul Grundy to discuss controlling health care costs, improving health
GREEN BAY — Dr. Paul Grundy, director of health care transformation for IBM, will offer his advice for controlling health care costs and improving overall wellness through health care reform during an event for employers on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
The event, sponsored by Bellin Health Business Solutions, will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Lambeau Field Atrium Legend’s Club Room, 1265 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay.
“Employees and their families that lack effective primary care and prevention and chronic disease management are severely challenged as they strive to be consistently productive members of the workforce,” said Randy VanStraten, director of Business Health Solutions at Bellin. “With health care reform still taking shape, this is the opportune time to address the high-cost, low-value situation many employers face when buying health care packages for their employees.”
Grundy’s Green Bay visit is part of an effort to help shift health care delivery toward consumer-focused, primary care-based systems including the widespread use of the patient-centered medical home model – a new approach to providing comprehensive primary care that facilitates partnerships among patients, their primary care physicians and the patient’s family.
During the October 13 event, Grundy will share:
• IBM’s experience at the forefront of national health care reform
• Cutting-edge ideas beneficial to patients, employers and the health care industry
• Innovations for improved health and controlled costs at the workplace
Following Grundy’s presentation, there will be a 15 minute question and answer session.
Seating is limited. If interested in attending, please call Barb Braun at (920) 431-5506 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
