Artists get creative with the heart at the ARTgarage

GREEN BAY — A juried art exhibition celebrating the human heart will take place Thursday, Feb. 4-27 at the ARTgarage, 1400 Cedar St., Green Bay.

The exhibition – showcasing works by artists across Northeast Wisconsin – will feature media by artists that, in some way, refer to the human heart, metaphorically, physically, abstractly or emotionally.

Selected works will be shown alongside digital prints of the human heart taken from the state-of-the-art Toshiba Aquilion ONE 320-slice CT scanner at Bellin Health’s newly remodeled Emergency Services Pavilion.

Reception, awards and opening is Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibit will run through Feb. 27.

Andrea Werner, director, Bellin Hospital Heart & Vascular Center, is a juror. She sits on the board of directors of Cedar Center Arts, the non-profit organization that runs the ARTgarage.

More than $1,500 in cash and purchase awards is available.

The event is sponsored by: Cardiology Associates of Green Bay; Green Bay Cardiothoracic and Vascular; General and Vascular Surgery of Green Bay; Surgery Specialists of Green Bay; General and Vascular Consultants; Green Bay Radiology; Radiology Chartered; Bellin Hospital Heart & Vascular Center; Toshiba; and the ARTgarage.
