Bike safety event planned for Saturday, May 21
SEYMOUR — Area children and their parents are encouraged to attend a free bike safety event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 21.
The event – scheduled to take place on Depot Street – will offer tips on proper bike helmet use.
Children can take a ride through the Bike Rodeo and visit Buckle Bear and the Crash Test Dummies. They also can study emergency preparedness information, examine Seymour’s emergency vehicles, learn ATV safety with the Department of Natural Resources, try out fatal vision goggles and much more.
Bike safety checks will be performed by members of the Bayshore Bicycle Club. Finger printing and DNA collection also will be offered.
The rain site for the event is at the Seymour Fire Department.
Two participants will win a new bicycle, compliments of American Family Insurance and Bellin Health.
More than 130 children attended the event last year.
Contact John Forcey at (920) 833-1339 for more information.
The event is sponsored by Bellin Health Family Medical Center-Seymour; Habush, Habush & Rottier; Bayshore Bicycle Club; American Family Insurance; and Outagamie County Health and Human Services.
