Milwaukee-based Managed Health Services (MHS) announced it has signed an agreement with Bellin Health of Green Bay to offer BadgerCare Plus participants additional access through a managed care network of physicians, hospitals and other health care providers throughout Northeastern Wisconsin.
The agreement, covering patients residing in Brown County and the surrounding areas, took effect on Wednesday, Aug. 15.
MHS operates a provider network spanning more than two-thirds of Wisconsin’s counties. The addition of Bellin Health represents a significant development.
“During the past year, Managed Health Services has significantly increased its presence in the Fox Valley area,” said Paul Sabin, MHS vice president of Network Development and Contracting. “This agreement with Bellin further strengthens provider options available to our membership and offers the BadgerCare Plus population of Brown County and surrounding areas improved health care coverage. We are very pleased with the addition of Bellin to our provider network.”
The agreement complements Bellin’s ongoing efforts to foster improved health across Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, according to George Kerwin, Bellin president and CEO.
“This valued relationship with Managed Health Services is another example of our continued commitment to providing the communities we serve high-quality care at an affordable cost,” Kerwin said. “Area BadgerCare Plus patients will benefit from this new agreement by having significantly improved access to health services through our expanded network of doctors and other health care providers and facilities.”
