Expert to discuss importance of weight management
GREEN BAY – Lose weight and gain health. That’s the message a visiting physician will share during a January 8 symposium on medical costs and weight.
The physician, Dr. James Early, is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Preventative Medicine and Public Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita.
Early’s message will examine how losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight benefits individuals as well as local employers.
“He will share the key to controlling health care costs and tips for successful and easy weight loss,” said Roxanne Denneau, Bellin Health Weight Management Team.
Early will present during a 7:15-9-15 a.m. symposium on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Lambeau Field. About 200 local employers have been invited to attend the event.
“Dr. Early’s research and expertise will help the community and Bellin Health provide cutting-edge, evidence-based weight loss options for our region,” Denneau said.
Early is an author and speaker on such topics as the behavioral management of lifestyle-related chronic illnesses, obesity, health promotion and disease prevention at the worksite, among other issues.
In 1993, Early founded Solutions for Life, one of the country’s premier adult weight loss clinics. The clinic specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of obesity; institutional and corporate wellness programming; the treatment of dyslipidemias; and the behavioral education of medical professionals.
