Bellin Health, Lakeshore CAP Launch Wellbeing Program
Kickoff event for ‘Do Good Sturgeon Bay’ is Feb. 23
Door County employers and community groups are invited to take part in “Do Good Sturgeon Bay,” a no-cost health and wellbeing program presented by Lakeshore Community Action Program (CAP) and Bellin Health Sturgeon Bay.
The program is complimentary to companies and groups with up to 250 individuals when participants make a $5 or healthy food items donation to the Lakeshore CAP Door County Food Pantry. In return, they’ll receive program perks that include Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) and individual HRA feedback sessions; health coaching, eight-week wellbeing programs and communication materials. Small groups will meet at Bellin Health Sturgeon Bay; larger employers and organizations can schedule services at their locations.
A program kickoff event will be held from 7:15-9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center, 107 N. 1st Ave., Sturgeon Bay. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:15, with the kickoff program beginning at 7:45. Interested companies and organizations should RSVP by Feb. 16 at https://s.zoomerang.com/r/do-goodSB or by contacting Kristin Jacques at (920) 436-8682 or Kristin.Jacques@bellin.org.
“The Partnership for Chronic Disease tells us nearly half of all deaths in the United States could have been avoided simply by getting a regular physical,” said Randy Van Straten, Bellin Health vice president of Business Health Solutions. “We have the tools to increase health and wellbeing in our communities, and we know these efforts can make a difference when we have buy-in from employers and other organizations. To be able to help those in need while we work for positive change makes this the perfect community partnership.”
Do Good Sturgeon Bay is a win-win for the community and the food pantry, added Michael Huck, CEO of Lakeshore CAP, Inc.
“We have seen an increasing need for supplemental food in Door County, and this program directly addresses that need,” Huck said. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Bellin on this exciting initiative.”
Businesses and organizations that would like to participate in Do Good Sturgeon Bay are asked to sign up by Tuesday, Feb. 28. Registration is available online at https://s.zoomerang.com/r/do-goodSB or by contacting Kristin Jacques at (920) 436-8682 or Kristin.Jacques@bellin.org.
