Choosing A Provider

Regardless of whether your child’s doctor is a pediatrician or a family practice physician, you can be assured you will get exceptional care at any Bellin Health Family Medical Center location. Our doctors understand that children are simply not small adults, they may have different symptoms and need different care. They know what care is right for them.

Bellin Health staff consists of a number of different specialties:

Pediatricians

Pediatricians specialize in the care of children and young adults. They are trained to help determine healthy lifestyles, help you anticipate the needs of your child, offer advice to help prevent injury and illness, and treat illness that may arise.

Our pediatricians are experienced in the physical, emotional and social development of children. They know how to talk to and relate to them to get the information they need to make a diagnosis.

Family Medicine Physicians

Family Medicine is a medical specialty which provides continuing, comprehensive care for the individual and the family. It is a specialty in breadth that incorporates the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences. Basically a Family Medicine practitioner has to be ready for anything.

Family Medicine incorporates three-dimensions: knowledge, skill and process. While knowledge and skill may be shared with other specialties, the family medicine process is unique; it deals with the patient viewed in context of the family. It is the extent to which this relationship is valued, developed, nurtured and maintained that makes Family Medicine unique.

Pediatric Hospitalists

Bellin is unique in that we have Pediatric Hospitalists working in conjunction with your child’s primary physician. They help a child admitted to the hospital deal with the changes in environment and get the care they need. Plus we have trained volunteers to be with your child when the parents need to be away. It’s all part of our commitment to provide the best care for our patients.

Pediatric Nurses

Pediatric Nurses are specially trained to understand the particular needs of children. Because children are still growing, the impact of the illness or injury on their development has to be taken into account. And because they are young, they may be more scared or confused by what is happening to them. Our Pediatric Nurses are there for them and their families, caring for them physically and emotionally.
