Foot & Ankle Arthritis and Surgical Options
Foot and ankle arthritis explained by Dr. David Ruta
Arthritis is a “wear out” of the slippery joint surfaces of our bones. Most arthritis around the foot and ankle is developed due to a traumatic event. “Post-traumatic arthritis” occurs when you have had a fracture that extends into a joint. Once the fracture has healed, there might still be chronic pain as the surfaces of the joint have been altered. There are many options to help manage an arthritic foot and ankle.
Dr. David Ruta discusses surgical options for an arthritic foot or ankle
From a total ankle, to a fusion, to a possible removal of bone spurs, there are many options that our fellowship trained Foot & Ankle Orthopedic Surgeons can offer you for an arthritic foot or ankle.
