Professional Education

Our dedication to professional education and development helps us provide some of the highest quality therapy services in the nation. Bellin Health consistently ranks at the top in national outcome measures as measured though FOTO. Further, our staff now consists of a growing number of 22 Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists) and three Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

Employee Professional Development

Professional development starts with annual and individualized professional development plans.  Each employee’s plan is updated and reviewed annually, and quarterly re-checks are held with our leadership team. Plans are based around professional and employment goals designed to encourage individualized growth and development within our system.

Entry-level employees are exposed to internal course work and required CE offerings (link to CE portion). Experienced clinicians also help new hires manage and treat their patient case load through hourly one-on-one mentoring during this program. It also includes monthly case presentation and discussions via live, web-based platforms.

Continuing Education

We offer employees multiple CE courses annually. In addition to bringing in quality presenters, we offer opportunities to attend external courses. We strive to offer high-quality and affordable CE offerings that create true value. Many courses are open to non-Bellin therapists to provide access to affordable CE to all therapists in the region.

Additionally, all new employees go through a series of specific CE courses to ensure employee development and delivery of consistent, high-quality care to our patients.

Residency and Fellowship Offerings

At Bellin we value specialized, high-level development opportunities for employees at all stages of their career.  For residency and fellowship candidates, we offer an orthopedic manual physical therapy residency and a fellowship through Evidence in Motion.

Each year Bellin Health selects two entry-level candidates to complete our residency over a 12 month program. Residency positons are paid with full-time benefits. The majority of the cost of residency or fellowship training is covered by Bellin. We also offer residency or fellowship positions to current employees on a rolling, 18 month calendar.
