Reason for Visiting Bellin Health Titletown:
For assessment of my health for total hip replacement surgery.
Total left hip replacement and no pain and also getting back to life.
What motivated you to begin your journey with us?
After therapy, which didn’t accomplish what I needed to happen, I contacted my physician, Dr. Sandra Kraemer/Keeker at Bellin clinic in Escanaba MI and she recommended I see an Orthopedic Surgeon to discuss other options. She put me in contact with Dr Searle and I met with him and his staff. Dr Searle was very helpful in my making a decision to have total hip replacement surgery. He made me feel at ease with my decision to have the surgery. His whole staff was great
What obstacles did you have to overcome?
Being able to walk normally without any pain and waddling like a penguin. Being able to enjoy going shopping with my Granddaughter, rummage sales, take care of my flower gardens, and being able to walk distances and swimming for my exercise. My scheduled surgery was for December 3, 2019 and I developed a Urinary Tract Infection 7 days before my surgery so it was postponed until December 30, 2019. We left 1 hour earlier the day of surgery because of bad weather because we live 1 ½ hours away from the hospital. While driving down our truck broke down 30 minutes away. It was a chore just to get me to the hospital on time. LOL I did get there ½ hour late but had the surgery.
What part did Bellin Movement Performance Lab play in helping you?
They helped me to assess my health with the purpose of going forward with surgery. They were very helpful with all the information they had to offer and asked me if I had any questions. They told me I could call any time if I thought of any other questions I had.
How has your life changed?
I am able to walk without pain and able to enjoy all my activities that I did before and missed because of the pain. I am happy.
What advice would you give to help others?
Don’t put off surgery for 10 months like I did. It is a blessing that I finally had this done and can walk normally. My experience at Bellin Oconto Hospital was fantastic. Everyone there was very helpful and very attentive to my needs.
